Gemma & Mark
Actors Gemma and Mark pulled out all the stops to surprise each other and entertain their guests at their wedding at Pencoed House near Cardiff. The ceremony was full of laughter and fun as well as love and meaning. In true ‘Love Actually‘ style, at the end of the ceremony one of Gemma’s friends started playing the opening bars of All You Need is Love on the trumpet from the balcony, starting a surprise singalong as all the guest joined in!
The musical theme extended to the reception, with a performance by the Singing Waiters. “We arranged this as a surprise for our guests as my husband works as one of the Singing Waiters and they went down a storm” says Gemma. “What I didn’t know is that my husband had prepared a surprise flash mob style song at the end. He lead the by song God Only Knows by The Beach Boys, and slowly as the song went on, various guests who are also performers stood up and joined in!”

“Sentiments Bridal was the third bridal shop I visited and I felt very at ease as soon as I arrived and met the staff” says Gemma. “I loved that after a brief chat I was able to be by myself in the room to look around freely, in my own time. This was really important to me as I often so easily get sidetracked or persuaded into choosing something that I think I’ll like and then later on I realise it wasn’t actually what I was looking for at all!
I found the girls at Sentiments Bridal gave me their opinions whilst at the same time really listening to what I was looking for. They helped me realise exactly what it was that I had in mind as I wasn’t sure myself.
I picked out a beautiful dress but I still wasn’t 100% sure. Then as I was leaving I spotted a different dress with a lace illusion back (the one I’d originally picked out had a satin back with lace on top). I made a passing comment, a bit of a joke, about how wonderful it would be to have the combination of the front of the first dress with the back of the second dress. That’s when one of the girls said that might actually be possible.
And that is how my dress was born! The satin was removed from the back so I had my dream lace illusion back on the original dress I chose.
The team at Sentiments Bridal really went above and beyond to make sure I had my dream dress. I had lots of comments throughout the wedding day on how beautiful my dress was and I felt like a princess. Thank you!”.
